In the previous Fiber Beat audio episode 8, "PGR, In A New Way", Priscilla Gibson-Roberts talks about the horizontal draw, a description of arm movements while spinning. In her spinning technique book, "High Whorling", she makes a distinction between draw (what your arms do) such as long draw or short forward draw and draft (what your hands do) as in woolen vs. worsted drafting. In this Fiber Beat Video Supplement #8, I demonstrate the horizontal draw on a drop spindle. The fiber I'm using is A Verb for Keeping Warm baby camel/silk (50/50) in the "French Monk's Finest" colorway.
